Fly Fishing Instructor's Manual — As some of you know the FFI has developed a workbook for instructors. "Fly Fishing Instructors' Handbook". This is a one of a kind that Ron Cordes, PhD, JD had put together for the instructors.
First Cast - Teaching Kids to Fly Fish — It starts with "First Cast-Teaching Kids to Fly Fish". That was written by Phil Genova. This is to be used with the book that Phil wrote by the same name. It breaks down the training into workable sections. Working with the mentors rolls in teaching.
The second section is the "TEACHING TOOL". The page by page of what to teach. This standardizes the instructions so as to make it easy to follow. It uses Gary LaFontaine's guides. This in one great handbook for any Fly Fishing instructor. From what fish eat. Fly tying where to find and how to get the fly there. Fresh cold, warm and salt water is covered.
Each page has room for your notes. But the best part is you can copy any page as a "hand out" No need to worry about copyrights. It is all ready covered. This is for Teaching and YOU will learn along the way. You may make as many copies of the book as you need.
This book sells for printing cost of $50.00. YOUR Southern Council has set aside enough monies to get each club a copy. This is one that each instructor should use. One copy is available for each member club. Contact Chris Jackson for your copy.
