Southern Council Conclave

2022 Southern Council Conclave was low-key but successful.
Due in part to being a come-back-year from social gathering restrictions, this low-key, low-cost event is to be considered a success, not perfect by any means and certainly left room for improvement. It is definitely a step toward what can become a better event overall. Attendance was somewhere between 150-200. And the financial report though not finalized is in the black.
The board of directors and officers want to thank all who attended and participated in any form during the 2022 Southern Council Conclave. We could not have done this without everyone's participation. We know that there is room for improvement. We ask that you direct any questions or comments to us so we can better handle those type of issues next year.
We are exploring the option of a change of venue, criticism tells us to look beyond Mountain Home, Arkansas. There are plenty of other location possibilities within the council region. Once we have found a good venue, we will let everyone know.

We do ask that you think about what could make for a better conclave and send your suggestions to our attention.
It would be great for each of the clubs in the council to provide education about what is available in their region for fly fishing and water resources to consider.
What types of hands-on seminars do you want to see and attend at the next conclave?
Who might be a keynote speaker that you would love to hear from at the next conclave?
How much time are you willing to put in to make the next conclave a far better event?
What would it take to draw in the younger generations?
If we start working together now, we can plan an opportunity toward sharing knowledge and experiences with older and newer fly fishers and fly tyers.
